My primary reason for wanting to become an ESL teacher is because, teaching was a passion I had ever since I was a little girl.
Having this genuine desire to achieve, I applied a variety of different approaches-methods, over the years ( 20 years of teaching). Methods such as the Cognitive (where grammar must be taught), the Natural approach (language is presented in a natural sequence: listening, speaking, reading writing) , the Communicative approach or else the CTL (communication is the goal and it emphasis on meaningful interaction).
Meanwhile,I have always believed and taught the communicative approach where language emerges rather than been acquired, through rules.
