It all started when I ignored my careers adviser. He said "There's no future in computers".
To be fair, it took me a while to ignore him. His advice to me, a young impressionable teenager, was to set me on the path to becoming an accountant, a path I eventually jumped from. When I realised I really didn't like accounts but I did like those computer things, I took the plunge and turned my geeky hobby into a career.
I've managed huge projects and small projects, but I put the same effort into each one regardless. I don't care how things get done, as long as they get done.
