Arthur Cordes spent ten years in the United States Army, with eight of those ten years with the United States Marine Corps. Arthur Cordes served as a sniper with the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1993, following which he started working in the United States Environmental Protection Agency. As a manager, he oversaw field teams of up to forty personnel and directed field crews for emergency response to clean up oil and chemical spills.
