Developed Bt brinjal varieties for small farmers of the state; those varieties are now on hold by the Government for political reasons. Was the Head of the Department of Biotechnology at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (2003-06). Was the Director of Centre for Plant Molecular Biology at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (2006-09) Was in TICEL Biopark as its Director (Scientific) for a brief period Now back to pavilion
