Born in Illinois, Peace Corps Senegal 1972-75, year teaching in Iran, 13 years at Country Day School in St. Croix until Hurricane Hugo blew us to Phoenix in 1990 and have been teaching history here ever since. I continue to travel and this year I established a nonprofit entitled Veterans Heritage Project. Besides Cactus Shadows HS, where I teach, we have chapters in 3 more Arizona schools to continue the work of interviewing military veterans to archive their stories at the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. We have published 6 books of these interviews entitled Since You Asked and are currently working on Book 7.
