Born in Toronto. Moved around a bit when very young but spent most of my childhood in Victoria Village. Attented Sloane Avenue PS and then Victoria Park SS. Took 5yr Science, Technology & Trades. Tried Junior and Senior football but was tall and skinny. Worked summers at Flemington Park Golf Course and spent a summer in Algonquin Park as a Junior Naturalist. Also played hockey for York Mills and Don Mills Civitans on defense. Okay skater but no shot.Then did a BASc and MASc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Work terms at AP Parts making mufflers, Goodyear in tire QA and four terms with Texas Gulf in the Timmins copper and zinc concentrator. Worked in mech mtce, machin
