The death rates due to infectious diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria are quite alarming and thus, it has exposed me to the harsh realities of the problem. Trying to address the question regarding the development of vaccine and/or drugs for them, has led the scientists over the decades to ponder over the mechanism of regulation of pathogenesis of these bacteria. I guess, it is a never-ending war, which requires continuous vigil lest the enemy get the better of us. The society I belong to, have been responsible for my growth by not only providing me a world-class education but also by creating an environment that stimulates thought.
