Dr Chia Shi-Lu, 40, is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Singapore General Hospital, who specialises in the surgical treatment of arthritis.
Dr Chia received his primary and secondary education from Anglo-Chinese School, and attended junior college at National Junior College. He was awarded the President’s Scholarship in 1990 and studied medicine at the National University of Singapore. He also served on the committee of the Faculty of Medicine Society and the NUS Students’ Union as part of his active varsity life.
