Editor's Notes
#7: Cross Campus Media Suite:We see the key components are our core platform which does the heavy lifting the transcoding, the streaming, the analytics/reporting, security and Kaltura Mgmt Console, which is a web based interface used by admins to manage the platform, to upload your media, create players and playlists and editing. And again, by adding on the LMS/CMS extensions, you will simplify the workflow for teachers/students. We have created extensionsMediaSpace:MediaSpace is a campus YouTube site and we see it as a central place and a way for students/teachers to use the way they use youtube. It comes in two versions. The publishers edition can be used by admins to distribute your media. The social edition enables users (teachers/students) to upload and share, edit and remix content. MediaSpace can also be integrated with LDAP to provide security. CMS ExtensionsOur CMS extensions such a wordpress, drupal and sharepoint are some of the widgets that can be added on as well. The ppt widget adds powerpoints to a video and we also have a 508 Compliant player. We also created our own application exchange, similar to apple, where you can purchase applications created by 3rd party developers that are taking our code and adding onto it to further enhance the capabilities and flexibility of our solutions compared to other solutions that are out there.Media Toolkittools for mobile, editing, live streaming etcAllows us to say to schools, what are you use cases and boil it down and say it sounds like you need a core platform and it sounds like you need this application or that application and looking at the other tools in the toolkit to see what other schools have used to develop their own workflows to enhance the system. People pull together these tools and help contribute back to the community.
