I have been using Linux since 1995, and started working as a systems administrator in 1997. I prefer to work with open source software, including Apache and Lighttpd, MySQL, Git, Exim, and Dovecot. I have also worked with Solaris, AIX, and QNX in the past, but find GNU/Linux systems provide the most pleasant and productive working environment.
On the networking side, I've built high-availability, load-balanced solutions using both open source tools and proprietary hardware.
In 1999, I added web developer to my title, and wrote a lot of PHP and SQL in the early 2000s, mostly for content management.
