I was born in Papua New Guinea.  My parents were missionaries there.  My parents returned to New Zealand in 1978 about a year after I was born.  I am the last of 3 children.  My two sisters are 11 and 13 years older than me.  I grew up in Otaki on the Kapiti Coast.  When I was 18 I left home and went to Massey University in Palmy.  I spent my first year in the Baptist Youth Hostel (1996?), after which I went flatting.  After completing my degree in 2002 I moved to Wellington looking for IT work.  After spending some time unemployed looking for work, I gave up on IT and got a job working for a builder.  After two years of doing building I was thoroughly frustrated and was praying earnestly fo
