After high school I joined the Air Force for many reasons. One was a sense of adventure out of my hometown and off to see new and exciting things. The second was to have the opportunity to attend college, which at the time I didn’t know if I wanted to pursue. I was more inclined to serve my 20 years plus in the air force until I retired. As luck would have it the core values taught in basic training really lit a fuse in my brain, which gave me a sense of purpose. That purpose was to become somebody and to help my friends and family along the way. So I started attending college courses while on active duty, working 50 hrs or more.
