I would hate to write something about myself at the risk of sounding narcissitic. Atheists cannot prove that God does not exist, because it impossible to prove a universal negative. To prove there is no God, an atheist would have to be everywhere in the universe, as well as every other dimension, at the same time during the entirety of its existence. In other words, an atheist would have to be God to prove He doesn't exist.
