Dr Darryl Woodford is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Creative Industries Faculty at Queensland University of Technology, and the leader of the Telemetrics project. Combining a background in engineering, computer science and games studies with experience in gambling industries, and the use of sabermetric approaches for sports modelling and the creation of methodologies to capitalise on market inefficiencies, he is bringing this knowledge to the development of new methodologies for utilising big data – from social media and elsewhere – within the entertainment industries.
