Raised in outback Australia, varying from the tropical north now best known for Crocodile Dundee to the barren centre and Alice Springs. It was there I began to appreciate my variance of view with the establishment that has remained a feature of my life. An excellent primary education in Alice Springs was followed by an informative 5 years at All Souls’ in Charters Towers in North Queensland, a Veterinary Surgeon degree in Brisbane and a PhD in Virology from the University of London.
