I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics of the Ionian University and a senior researcher at the Computing Systems Laboratory of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). I received my Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA in 1999, I joined the graduate program in Computer Sciences at the University of Maryland in 2000, where I received my M.Sc. (2002) and Ph.D. (2006).
My research interests lie in the area of large-scale distributed systems and particularly management of Big Data and performance/optimization aspects. Applications over Cloud platforms, Peer-to-Peer and Grid systems are considered.
