She was born in İzmir and after being graduated from Alsancak Gazi Elementary School and private İzmir Turkish College, she completed B.A at the Department of Architecture of Faculty of Fine Arts at Aegean University in 1977. She received pedagogy courses at the Instıtute of Social Sciences at the same university in 1978. Having completed her Master of Arts, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. M.Umit Sedaroğlu in Restoration Studies Program at Architecture Dep. of Faculty of Fine Arts at the Dokuz Eylul University, she commenced to working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture of Dokuz Eylul University.
