Exzavier Mekal Jones Jr aka Providence; born April 11th 1986 is an American rapper, singer, & songwriter. Born in Chicago, IL in Provident Hospital, he was raised by his mother on the South Side of Chicago. His father, a butcher who formerly served in the US Army was brutally mudered 4 months before his birth. Providence was influenced to pursue music by his mother who was also singer that went by the name of 'Lady Love'. In his earliest years before his exposure to Hip Hop, his mother would play classics by great musical pioneers such as The Isley Brothers, Sam Cooke, The Temptations & many more. Later on he was introduced into the world of hip hop, and was inspired to cultivate and deve
