DERRICK - "DA-MAESTRO"
Raised up from a cotton patch in Itta Bena, MS, (Leflore County), the heart of the Mississippi Delta, I began my music career around the age of five (5), playing the piano. I started at a small holiness church in the countryside of Tippo, MS. Baptized at 10 and choir director and church musician at age 13. At first too shy to play and wanting just to be a playful kid, but later persuaded. 

I began writing songs around age eleven (11) and have as of today, written over 175 gospel, sacred and chorale pieces for quartets, trios, choirs, and soloists. I currently live in Enid, Oklahoma (Garfield County).
