Carla Killough McClafferty grew up in the small farming community of Tomberlin, Arkansas, where her parents farmed rice and

Terri Kirk is the librarian at Reidland High School in Paducah, Kentucky and has been a high school librarian for 18 years.
Ms. Kirk is the past president of the Kentucky School Media Association and the Kentucky Library Association. She served as
American Association of School Libraries (AALS) Division Councilor on the ALA Council before being elected to the Executive

Award winning author, Helen Hemphill Hailed as a strong new voice in childrens literature by Kirkus Reviews, Helen
