Hendré started his career during the conception of the geographical information systems industry in South Africa. He worked on the local government elections (1995) for Maps & Data Group (PTY) LIMITED. Hendré was the sole support person for Maps & Data in the Cape Metropolitan area. Maps & Data was acquired by Q Data Group, where Hendré worked as a consultant.
After a management walk-out, Hendré and other members from Maps & Data formed Astrack. The company focused on the fleet management industry. Astrack later became Ramm Systems (PTY) LIMITED and was first acquired by Roadcorp then Imperial. In Ramm Systems, Hendré got exposure to low level C programming, desktop programming and int
