Dr. Hooshang Lahooti educated in United Kingdom and Norway. He received BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Cardiff, South Wales, United Kingdom in 1978, MSc in Biochemistry and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology (Molecular Endocrinology) from University of Bergen, Norway in 1986 and 1991 respectively. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship with Department of Molecular Endocrinology, Imperial Cancer Research Fund, in London, United Kingdom than was employed by Norwegian Cancer Research Society as Research Fellow.
