My teaching philosophies are inspired by my background in alternative education. Homeschooled as a child, I enjoyed an education that was as diverse as it was rigorous, and which encouraged me not only to pursue my individual learning goals, but also to be accountable to my progress in achieving those goals. Now, as teacher at BASIS Prescott, I encourage my students to hold themselves to the highest standards--to self-advocate in the face of challenges that are oftentimes both academic and personal. In this, I strive to facilitate for my students the same intensive yet individualized learning environment I have enjoyed throughout my own pursuit of education.
