Dr. Ichi Kanaya (born 6 January 1973 in Tokyo, Japan) is a founder of Pineapple Computer and a professor of School of Information Systems, The University of Nagasaki, Japan. He is majored in computer science and its application to media art & design. He is also interested in applying computer technologies to survey, restoration, and conservation of cultural properties including Pyramids in Egypt. As a social activist, he has been running many conferences, workshops, and hackathons. One of the most notable ones is TEDxKyoto, an independently organized event of TED conference. He had been a general producer of TEDxKyoto since its startup in 2012.
