Carlo is formerly a faculty member for Physics and Chemistry at Rizal Institute - Canlubang, Calamba City. He completed the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines - Los Banos under the advisory of Marlon N. Manalo, Ph.D. His undergraduate research is on the isolation of limonin from Citrus reticulata Blco. and the limonoid aglycones content on x[Citrofortunella microcarpa (Bunge) Wijnands] by visible spectrophotometry and densitometric anlaysis.
He is currently conducting research on the use of movies, videos, and games for teaching Chemistry in the K-12 Basic Education Curriculum.
