Ivan is has 30 years of experience in hardware and software development. He started his career at Digital Equipment Corporation, following his passion for the kernel of the PdP 11 machines and later with VAX/VMS Macro programming and networking. Entrepreneur since 1988, he set up and managed IT startups and subsidiaries in Europe and US. He has been an independent journalist and author of technical books for 15 years.
Ivan worked for the last 10 years in the MySQL world. First, he led the Sales Engineering SW team at MySQL/Sun/Oracle, then he has been CTO for SkySQL/MariaDB. He is currently EVP of Products and Strategy at ScaleDB.
Ivan lives in Windsor, UK.
