Dr. Jef Boeke recently served as Professor of Molecular Biology & Genetics and Founding Director of the HiT Center, the first interdisciplinary Center in the IBBS. He held a joint appointment in the Cancer Center and an adjunct appointment in the Dept. of Biology in the School of Arts and Sciences. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Rockefeller University. Jef Boeke did postdoctoral work at MIT/Whitehead on yeast genetics with Gerald Fink and was on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1986 to 2015.
