Starting a career in education that I hope empowers and nourishes me for a lifetime.
I was born in Bryan, raised in Houston. I always had a love for reading and when I went away to Smith College I discovered a love for history. I have a degree in Afro-American Studies from Smith that means the world to me. I also managed to pick up a degree a master's degree in Women's Studies from UCLA in the last few years. I consider myself to be an African American Gender Historian with a particular interest in cultural history and intellectual history.
