This WebQuest uses bags of Skittles candy to teach middle school students about probability. Students will separate Skittles by color and count the amounts in their bag. They will then answer probability questions as a worksheet activity and record their findings as a group. The goal is for students to understand probability and how to calculate it using real examples. Working together and completing the worksheet will evaluate the students' learning. By the end, students should understand basic probability concepts and be able to apply them.

Introduction
This WebQuest is meant for middle level math students. This project is for students to
Title learn about what probability entails using fun. Students will critically think then work as a
group to answer the question, Are all bag of skittles created equally?
Introduction
Task Probability is the chance that something will happen - how likely it is that some event will
happen.
Process
Sometimes you can measure a probability with a number: "10% chance of rain", or you can
Evaluation use words such as impossible, unlikely, possible, even chance, likely and certain.
Conclusion Example: "It is unlikely to rain tomorrow".

The Task
Learning probability while keeping the students entertained. Students should be able to
Title use this when answering other probability problems. Probability is used everyday by any
child growing up to an adult playing the odds at a casino. This will be a fun easy way to
Introduction gasp the concept when first learning about probabilities.

[Teacher Page] The Process
First, you start out by handing each student a bag of skittles and a worksheet of probability
Title questions. Students should separate the skittles by color and count the amounts. The
worksheet will need to contain a section for results, probability problems (ex. What is the
Introduction probability of getting a red or orange skittles), then a section to fill out as a group to record
Task all the findings. After, the worksheet is complete students should have an understanding of
the way probability works.
