Initially I tried to learn as much as possible on the basic sciences biology, chemistry and physics to then focus on neuroscience. Driven by Feynmans "What I cannot build, I cannot understand" my focus shifted towards neuroinformatics and especially neuromorphic engineering - a field that tries to mimic neural computation in analog circuits. Based on the knowledge I gained in this field, I am convinced that brain-inspired vision systems will outperform existing frame-based approaches.
