Dr. Julia Eksner is a learning scientist (Ph.D. 2007), anthropologist (M.A. 2001), and designer of learning environments. Julia is interested in issues of diversity, citizenship, and social justice. She has designed and implemented media education curricula with urban youths in Berlin and Chicago from 1999 to 2007. Since 2007 she has been involved in the design of interactive online learning environments and is interested in the application of the possibilities of interactive storytelling and transmedia to instructional design.
