Kathy began the business, Tuscan Garden Works, in the garage in 1998 because being a avid gardener, she needed an arched trellis to support some climbing roses. The neighbors wanted such things as curved benches for a fire pit area, gazebo for a bride and groom to stand under, sturdy was a quality that she and her husband, Jim could design and have manufactured. News spread and the business flourished selling up to $2.5M in 2007. The economy affected business and recently Jim and Kathy have been moving toward an online business since half of their customers come from areas outside of UT.
