States of Matter

Analyze learner


The learners are a fifth grade class.



There is 8 boys and 7 girls in the class.



They may not be all the same type of learners, so to
make sure that every learning style is met tons of
different activities will be present.



None of the students have exceptionalities and all
are your average fifth grader!
Main Objective


Students will recite and describe all of the states of
matter within a week with 95% accuracy.



This will be done through research and on hands
activities to understand the different types of matter.



For example, the class will be given different items
and will be asked to tell what state of matter the item
may be in.
Day by Day Breakdown
Friday:
Give examples and do
activities where you
decide which state of
matter something is in.
Thursday:
Learn about the
3rd state of
matter: gas. Go
over what it is in
class.

Wednesday:
Introduce the second
state of matter: liquid.
Give examples and
learn about what it is.

Monday:
Introduce and go
over what matter
really is.

States of Matter

Tuesday:
Go over the first state
of matter: solid. Talk
about what it is.
Use of Technology






The students will be able to use computers and
school safe websites to understand the different
states of matter.
If Ipads are available to the classroom, students will
look at different apps that include states of matter
and how to figure out which is which.
Technology is key to our future education, so it is
important to include the use of technology at
younger ages.
