L鈥橝rc~En~ciel lahir februari 1991,saat bassist tetsuya ogawa alias tetsu ngajak hyde,gitaris hiro,dan drummer pero,buat bikin band.walaupun lumayan sukses di Osaka,tempat asal mereka,hiro mutusin keluar tahun 92 n鈥� diikuti pero.tetsu lalu berhasil membujuk ken kitamura buat berhenti kuliah di Nagoya institute of tecknology,ia juga merekrut drummer yasunori sakurazawa atau sakura.
Mereka mulai merilis album tahun 93 berjudul dune,dibawah label indie.sukses menembus chart Oricon,setahun kemudian band ini merilis album tierra lewat major lebel,disusul album heavenly dan true,yang menjadi album sejuta copy pertama laruku .
