In 1987, working with a small team at McCaw Communications, we created the North American Cellular Network (NACN) which allowed cellular subscribers to automatically and seamlessly roam between cities and different carriers. The NACN created the freedom for cellular subscribers to make/receive calls anywhere at anytime - transformational at the time, but now something we all take for granted.
