- When fascinated, one is very interested and pays close attention. They would want to read a book they are fascinated with.
- Something happens occasionally if it happens once in a while, such as a clock ticking.
- A timid person is shy and unsure, so they would act nervously.
- Something peculiar is very strange and unusual, so one would not eat a peculiar smelling sandwich.
- Something drab looks dull and lacks color, so a mud puddle looks drab compared to a rainbow.
