Before coming to academia I worked as a journalist editor and health and human services consultant.
So I have developed diverse skills in the nitty gritty practice based work that characterises community-based organisations; the bigger strategic picture focus of public sector organisations and the commercial management interests of business.
I have been working as a lecturer and as Convenor of the Journalism program at UOW - together with my colleague Stephen Tanner we created the new Bachelor of Journalism which was launched in 2006.
