My current research interest is to develop artificial intelligence technologies by taking advantage of the information about neural wiring diagrams (connectomes) of the mammalian brain. My focus is to create machine learning algorithms based on neurophysiological facts by reconstructing anatomical neuronal networks to emulate brain functions and behaviors. I am also developing a method to observe whole brain neuronal circuits in combination with x-ray and electron microscopy. My goal is to reconstruct a 3D mammalian brain with the highest isotropic resolution in a large scale image field.
