Dr MVR Reddy did M.Sc in Biochemistry from SV University, Tirupathi & Ph. D on ‘Immunodiagnostic studies in filariasis at in 1987 at MGIMS, Sevagram.  Joining the Institute in November 1980 as Junior Research Fellow in a DBT supported Filariasis Research project, worked in various capacities as Demonstrator, Lecturer, Reader, Associate Professor and Professor and is presently heading the Department of Biochemistry since October 2002. The research thrust areas have been immunodiagnostics, vaccine development and molecular biology studies related to Filariasis. He has published 105 papers and is a coauthor / coeditor for 5 Books. He is also the Co-inventor of two process patents on filarial
