NSS Murthy has distinguished educational background (Government of India merit scholer, Second rank in BE (degree) from Bangalore university (1969) and has received MTech degree from IIT Kanpur in 1971. Two conference papers presented at IEEE (PAS) sessions (USA) in 1972 were part of his MTech Thesis. He is a fellow of institution of Engineers (India) and a Life Member of the Indian society for Technical education.
