i’m interested in the science of human nature: evolutionary psychology. my background is in psychology and evolutionary biology, but i worked for several years in behavioral genetics. my current focus is on understanding the origin and evolution of human language, using insights based on the social brain hypothesis. other interests include the origin and evolution of music, theory of mind (inferring intentions of other mental states), mate choice and honest signalling theory (the peacock's tail often given as a prototypical example).
