Nazarkhudo Dastambuev graduated from Khorog State University, Tajikistan, with a specialty in Oriental Languages (Persian, Dari and Arabic) in 1997. He spent about four years teaching philosophy and logic at the mentioned University, joining Khorog English Program a project of the Institute of Ismaili Studies, London in 2000; shortly thereafter, he joined the Aga Khan Humanities Project, working on its Schools Project as a Consultant. Through this project they introduced new methods of teaching and later curriculum development into the education system in Tajikistan.
