Came to the United States from Austria to do elementary and high school in Kentucky, joining Jonah and the Wailers then Cosmo and the Counts. Then 10 student years in Cambridge and Boston, supporting myself as organist with the Rhythm Method and falling in love with Vicki, whom I later married. My father said that was enough education and I should get a real job. So, after NIH with Marshall Nirenberg joined faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Neurology, apprenticing myself to Victor McKusick. These 17 years in Baltimore were interrupted by a two year stint as a Mosely Traveling Fellow at the National Hospital in Queen Square, London. Returned to England with V
