In 2011 Nikola Nikolov got hit PhD from the Physics Department @ the University of Knoxville Tennessee in theoretical nuclear physics with large scale computing. The PhD was sponsored by National Nuclear Security Agency (NNSA). The research was conducted in Oak Ridge National Laboratory facility for supercomputing with application for nuclear waste stockpile and astrophysics of neutron stars.
In the beginning of 2013, finished 1 year postdoc in nuclear astrophysics at Louisiana State University. Research was related triple alpha stellar thermonuclear synthesis and p-process at novae stars.
