Nirekha, has recently completed her PhD on ‘Healing and Wellbeing: Culture, Practices and Role of Government of Sri Lanka’ at Griffith Law School. She has extensive research experience on cultural diversity, human rights and marginalized communities by engaging in National and International research projects conducted by Government, SAARC, United Nations, University of Colombo and various international organizations. Since 2010, Nirekha has served as the Research Officer at SAARC Cultural Centre, Colombo and has contributed in organizing many International Conferences related to the culture of South Asia, Coordinating the Annual Research Fellowship Projects and Editing Journals.
