Ozer Balkas received the MSc degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Istanbul in 1973 and advanced his career with a Graduate Diploma in Management at the Netherlands International Institute for Management (RVB), Maastricht, the Netherlands in 1990. He worked for Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) between 1975 and 2014, and took part in a variety of petroleum activities both in Turkey and abroad. Mr. Balkas currently works as a self-employed consultant in the areas of upstream exploration and development for oil and gas in Turkey and neighbouring countries in the Eastern Mediterranean, North Africa, Middle East, Black Sea, Caspian and Central Asia regions.
