In this role, I conduct research on the molecular mechanisms involved in the development and resolution of inflammatory lung disease. I currently mentor one postdoc, one clinical fellow, and one undergraduate student, and I am fully responsible for one research technician. I administer four research budgets, and I collaborate in the experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript writing with all members of my lab. In addition, I am responsible for writing grant applications. I spend 75% of my time performing research on sex differences in lung miRNA expression in response to oxidative stress, and 15% of my time studying miRNA biomarkers for pediatric inflammatory lung disease.
