I am a second year doctoral student in the Department of Sociology. My primary research area is Demography, related to a variety of combinations of personal and regional factors affecting health disparities especially for socially vulnerable groups. Also, I am interested in the various accumulated disadvantages in the life course which drive people into vicious circles such as poor physical and mental health. My M.A. thesis topic is "Differentials of age-specific suicide rate by areas in South Korea", reflecting a recent steep increase of suicide rates and diverged patterns by age group and gender.
