Coming from a small village near Pune, Rajgurunagar (Khed), I started my college education in Pune and completed it in Mumbai. I spent my working life in banking -- worked for Reserve Bank of India for about two decades and the World Bank in Washington for about three decades. I had a chance to work on economic development programs in many countries including China, Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Russia, most of the central asian countries including Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Georgia; and in Eastern Europe, Albania and Romania, and in Middle East on Iraq.
