Professor Renee Hobbs is one of the nation's leading authorities on media literacy education. She recently served as the Founding Director of the Harrington School of Communication and Media at the University of Rhode Island, where she helped develop a distinctive identity for the new school, which includes 5 undergraduate and 3 graduate programs. As director of the Media Education Lab (www.mediaeducationlab.com), Hobbs works to advance digital and media literacy through scholarship and community service. She developed Powerful Voices for Kids, a university-school partnership which offers a comprehensive program for K-12 schools.
